This is the first comic I’ve drawn since June last year. Pretty sad huh. I’m liking how it turned out though. I don’t know what to call these but they’re the first slice of life comics I’ve done I think. Each will be one page long. I have several captured already, but this is the first complete. I’m guessing most will revolve around domestic life, maybe work. Anyway c & c welcome.

It’s in the 80’s today.

We won second.

We is Laura, Jeff, Justin, and myself.

In brief, the WHITE HOUSE REDUX competition was a open ideas competition to re-envision the White House if it was to be built today in 2008. It's put on by Storefront for Art and Architecture. There will be an exhibition at storefront, the opening is on Oct. 2nd. Anyone in NY is welcome to come.

I am so pleased right now. This is pretty big.

working out a wordpress blog, and may more or less abandon this one because LJ has ads everywhere and is annoying me.

Here's the comic I did for Mocca titled "everything is over" i originally intended it to be 16 pages but with the deadline condensed it to 8. it may work better this way, regardless I'm likely not going to draw the other 8.

comic behind cut )

In other idea news I'm going to make a mountain goats inspired comic. the band not the animal. has anyone seen INLAND EMPIRE? i just did and will need a separate post for it.

I thought of this right before I fell asleep the other night/morning.

Notes:

I saw Jeffrey Lewis play the other night, and he was good as usual, even in the hostile environment of Williamsburg. (The audience was predictably ridiculous, as they couldn't stop talking throughout every song, every set, rudest people ever) I traded comics with him after the show, he makes some really good comics too, they're called Fuff! I don't know what that means.

I went to PS1 today to see the olafur eliasson exhibit before it closed and was thoroughly impressed. his work is very spatial, and he had a large assortment of study models which were very cool, I feel like his work describes infinity. The MOMA half of the show was good as well. If you have read about those waterfalls in new york, by him, they are pretty disappointing. I like the idea, but they were not executed with nearly enough craft to make them look like anything but a stack of scaffolding raining mist. Work AC's Public Farm 1 is definitely worth seeing, I like it a lot better than last year's Young Architects winners.

I saw wanted, you should too. There was a preview for Death Race, which I really really really wish was titled Transporter 3.

The diablo 3 announcement was pretty exciting.
